Aircraft Transporting Pete Hegseth Required to Touch Down in UK Due to Fracture in Windshield
An aircraft ferrying Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth was forced to make an unscheduled landing in the UK on Wednesday after a crack was discovered in the jet's front window, according to an announcement which confirmed that the secretary was unharmed.
"The aircraft landed based on standard procedures and everyone onboard, including Defense Secretary Hegseth, is unharmed," a spokesperson said in a online announcement.
The secretary was coming back from a quick journey to the Belgian capital when the incident occurred.
This occurrence is not the initial instance that a United States armed forces jet ferrying a high-ranking official has experienced equipment failures.
In a previous incident this year, a American military jet ferrying Marco Rubio to the city in Germany was forced to head back to Washington DC after encountering a technical issue.
